Sierra Cole
My name is Sierra Cole. I am currently a junior in Boise State University’s class of 2023. I am studying Inclusive Early Childhood Education in my hometown, Boise, Idaho. I took my first 3 semesters at TCU, but opted to make a change amidst all the uncertainty of the pandemic. My hobbies aside from school include painting, cooking, hiking, and enjoying the outdoors.
I was introduced to contemplative practice my freshman year and quickly became a regular at weekly meditations with the Contemplative Studies student group. As both my sister and brother-in-law were heavily involved in this group, I felt compelled to see what all the excitement was about. Second semester, I took World Religions with Dr. Dennis, where we further explored the benefits and practical applications of contemplative practice. I quickly realized that the stress and anxiety relieving consequences of meditation are just what college students need!
I look forward to fostering meaningful relationships with individuals both at TCU and BSU through contemplative studies. I strive to uphold an environment where everyone feels welcome to practice– whether or not they have any previous experience.
